EN The scholars who are engaged in the social sciences create different theories to explain events in international relations. The basics underlying the securitisation theory will be shown in the first part of the paper, following the theory of macro-securitisation that has occurred as a consequence of deepening the theory of securitisation and its expansion to the system-global level. The second part of the paper presents the basics of the theoretical concept of energy security, which is to some extent “problematic” as a rather new concept and very often criticised. The focus of this paper is to recognise the potential that affects the degree of persuasiveness of energy threats, which is a very important factor in the process of politicisation, securitisation and macro-securitisation of this issue.
