Abstract

EN One of the factors playing an important role in the process of growth and economic development of spatial units of different geographical scale is infrastructure. The aim of this study is to show the impact of demographic change on the development of social infrastructure in Germany, which is considered to be an element of spatial planning that primarily serves the interests of citizens. It can be pointed out that in German politics the issue of spatial order is strongly linked to the demographic changes taking place in German society. The increase in the number of senior citizens in society requires the social infrastructure to be adapted to their changing needs over time. In this respect, there is scope for entrepreneurial and innovative action, especially in the service sector.
