Abstract

EN The paper is a qualitative study on the use of new technologies as didactic tools in education for security and safety. The aim of the research was to explore their potential in two aspects: key competencies acquired and developed during technology enhanced training, as well as the most desirable tools used in education for security and safety. The respondents were 32 international experts who teach security and safety topics in civil and military institutions. The research results indicated that reactions on emerging threats, crisis response situations, decision making and managerial skills were the key competencies. The most desirable tools were characterized by two features: instant access for learners and teachers, and the possibility of painless learning on mistakes. The study also reflected the teachers' awareness on the use of digital tools in education for security and safety.
