EN The contemporary cities of highly developed countries strive to improve their competitiveness and attractiveness, both on a regional and international scale. This is possible through measures to improve the quality of life QoL. A number of factors influence QoL in cities, predominantly effective logistics infrastructure management. For this reason increasing number of expectations and requirements are being placed on the city's logistics infrastructure. As a result, it becomes necessary to develop new methods of its organization and management, enabling the inclusion of all factors that have a significant impact on QoL in the process, especially increasingly important issues regarding the provision of the optimal level of public security and national defense within the available resources. The purpose of the article will, therefore, be to analyze and discuss the main problems and challenges associated with managing the city's logistics infrastructure emerging from the national defense and public security requirements.
