Abstract

PL Assessing personnel in an organisation is one of the main elements of human resources management. The results that are obtained in this process constitute the basis for taking decisions regarding not only personnel. The paper presents the process of assessment in the Armed Forces, its aim, essence, and meaning during a regular’s service. The author describes the process of assessment on the basis of the available source literature and discusses legal acts that are in force in the Armed Forces. In addition, the paper describes the development of the process of giving opinion on the basis of the legal acts that have been in force since 1997, focusing on the aim and essence of this process.
