Streszczenie

EN The Institute of National Remembrance has published four volumes of a source edition – the „Aparat represji wobec księdza Jerzego Popiełuszki” (“Apparatus of Repression Against Father Jerzy Popiełuszko”) series, the result of research conducted in the IPN Archives. These publications include records of the Communist-era security apparatus from 1982 to 1984 (volume I), records of the investigation into the abduction and murder of Fr. Popiełuszko (volume II), records of the Polish People’s Republic’s Ministry of Internal Affairs intelligence regarding the abduction and murder of Fr. Popiełuszko (volume III), and records of the East German Ministry of State Security (MfS, Stasi) regarding the abduction and murder of Fr. Popiełuszko (volume IV). These publications do not exclude the further possibilities of examining and publishing the most important documents of the Communist-era state apparatus, as well as those produced after 1989 and concerning Fr. Jerzy Popiełuszko. Among the avail able archival records, it is worth mentioning not only the collection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Daily Information, illustrating the country’s security situation, and prepared for the party and government leadership (work on this publication is in progress), but also certain other categories of records.
