Abstract
EN One of the basics humans rights is right to self-determination about ourselves, which in the medical law expresses itself through the giving of consent to medical treat-ment by patient. This right is also implemented by the possibility of submitting pro futuro statements, in which patients can express their "wishes for the future" in rela-tion to the treatment process, which should be respected by medical staff in situa-tions where, for objective reasons, it is not possible to withdraw consent or not to a given health service. This study presents the issue of the legal structure of pro futuro statements and its relationship to consent to a medical procedure in the national and international aspect.
